A Little Insight-
by Summer Bacon

When I was a little girl, just 4 years old, I remember sitting under the dining room table playing "tent" under the long table cloth. I sat on the floor sucking on a penny (which I knew was a no-no) and sang the ABCs song. My Dad was in the room and had just recently admonished me about sucking on coins. "A-B-C-D-E-F-G-...Say, Daddy? How do you spell my name?" I could hear the smile in his voice, "S-U-M-M-E-R," he responded. I listened intently, and repeated the letters very slowly and carefully, trying to piece together this puzzle of ABCs and words. "S-U-M-M-E..." I said, still sucking on the penny. The revelation of how ABCs and words were related suddenly pierced my consciousness and I gasped as I said, "-R!" and simultaneously swallowed the penny. It was then and there that I knew I had found my purpose in life. I was going to be writer!

Well, write I do, though only as part of my work and not yet as a published author (with the exception of my self-published book, "The Little Book of Channeling" which is no longer in print).

In 1984 I received a degree in English Literature from U.C.L.A. where I had the extreme pleasure of reading every book I could get my hands on that was written prior to the 20th century. Since then I have read only a few books, consciously choosing not to read anything that might muddle my channeling process. I have especially steered clear of metaphysical and spiritual books for the past decade, with the exception of an occasional journey into the Bible.

However, during the course of my work as a trance medium, I have had the extreme pleasure of knowing many wonderful people with fascinating stories to tell...many of which may never be picked up by a large publishing house. These determined and adventurous souls have opted to self-publish their less than mainstream works, and I joyfully dedicate this portion of my website to displaying links to the sites/email addresses where you may purchase their books. Non-reader that I am, I have not read but a few pages of each of these manuscripts, but I DO know that these are genuine people of great integrity. So follow your heart where it leads you...perhaps into the pages of an unexpected manuscript that will nurture your soul "beyond your wildest dreams and imaginations."

Life in the Spirit
An Intimate Dialogue on Christianity and Mysticism

by Susan Palmer

In the words of author Susan Palmer... In January of 2002 I began to have a series of spiritual experiences that were both awesome and terrifying. I began to have re-occurring "visions" of what is referred to in the Christian religion as the Passion of Christ, i.e., the experiences of Jesus of Nazareth leading up to his death and culminating in the Crucifixion. What began for me as a a" vision" quickly changed into the living experience of the same, whereby I BECAME JESUS--as if the two of us had become one! These re-enactments of the Passion of Christ, the re-living of these experiences through my own body, with all of the agony and ecstasy thereof, continued for months. Then Spirit began pressing me to take on the STIGMATA, the visible wounds of Jesus Christ.

Having been involved all my life with Eastern Mysticism and not being affiliated with the Christian Church, for the sake of my "sanity," I decided to share my experiences with my sister, who has been actively involved with Christianity all her life. As you will see, the saga of my personal experiences with the Crucifixion shared in this manuscript, Life In The Spirit, is not only an intimate dialogue on Christianity and Mysticism/Metaphysics--it is also a bridging of the gap between them.

I OFFER THIS INTIMATE DIALOGUE TO YOU AS FOOD FOR THOUGHT.

I AM BRIGHAM
By Summer Bacon & Brigham Young

I started channeling on December 4, 1994. From the first booming "God bless you, Dr. Peebles here!" I was in for quite an adventure. Parades of poltergeists, gaggles of ghosts, and spades of spooks popped in and out of my body, and with each "guest" that I honored, I was stretched and expanded until my body and vocal cords were so elastic I could surrender to most anyone or anything that needed a telephone line to our planet.

It was in these early days, around Christmas, that Brigham Young (yes, the Mormon) suddenly and unexpectedly entered my life. I was with my children in Salt Lake City visiting my stepdaughter. In the middle of the night I was awakened by a spirit who was so close I could practically feel his breath on my face. He began to talk to me about Mormonism, something I knew NOTHING about (and, in fact, was quite judgmental about, thinking only in terms of multiple wives and large families). He was determined to get information through to me, about women, about the Mormon religion, etc. I have little memory of the details, except that when I asked who he was he said, "I am Brigham." At the time I was not familiar with the name. Then, the next day as we browsed various tourist locations, I saw a statue. "That's him!" I exclaimed, and ran to find out what it said on the plaque. "Brigham Young" is what it said. My husband at the time (we are now divorced) explained more to me about the Mormon religion, and about Brigham Young, since my husband had lived in Salt Lake City for several years. I told him all that Brigham had told me, and he verified the truth of it. I was thrilled.

When we returned to our home in Los Angeles, Brigham Young began to speak through me. He was adorable, stern, delightful, and biased. He wanted me to channel him regularly, and to contact the Elders in the Mormon church. I was terrified, and absolutely refused. But, I must admit that my days with Brigham were wonderful. He would pop up in my kitchen and tell me how to adjust my curry recipe to make it taste just right. He gave us brilliant ideas about how to run our home more efficiently and economically. One of his wives even shared a recipe for blackberry pie (I think it was blackberry) which I unfortunately didn't write down.

Brigham, who was familiar with a typewriter, sat at my computer keyboard one day and began to type (using my fingers). He wanted to write a book. I balked. I did not like his writing style, and I thought he was too pompous. So he'd write, and then I'd tell him to leave. My husband said it was unbelievable to watch my fingers fly across the keyboard. Brigham held my fingers high as if he was working on a manual typewriter, and pounded the keyboard with such force that we were concerned he might break it.

I had forgotten about the Brigham papers (of which there are only 13 pages) until today (January 25, 2002) when I unexpectedly came across the only copy that exists of this channeled work. It is sketchy and unfinished. At the end is an outline of the book he wanted to write. As I read his beautiful words, I was astonished that they came through me. I'm sad now that I was so young and in fear that I could not allow him to finish his book. At the rate he typed, it probably wouldn't have taken long to complete.

So, here, for the first time ever, I want to share a bit of this beautiful being's perspective...yet another perspective in the universe. Just one of many. Yes, those spooks have their own lives, own ideals, own belief systems, and own desires. Here are a few excerpts of what came through me one winter's day in 1995. Enjoy. As you read, understand that the learning never ends for any of us, and the growth continues forevermore...even on the other side.

"For, when you get to heaven, what are you going to do then?" says Dr. Peebles. "For the purposes herein, I have chosen not to correct the words of the past, but to explore how we as Mormons can go forward in the future. In kindness and in trust as one community, one soul, moving forward, bringing God's light into the world, filling all dark spaces with his work and light. So many now suffer needlessly, and for me to say that I have all the answers would be but for me to say that I am God Himself. I do not have all the answers, but God does, and we can only hear them if we allow them to be revealed to us. There are ways in which God works in quite literal ways. First, one must accept God's world with reverence, for it is all that we have, all that will ever be. There is, in truth, ONE EARTH FOR MANKIND. Share it wisely, my friends.

Using caution as I approach the keyboard on this evening in the home of my cherished friends, I find that writing here is so much easier than ever before. It is truly amazing the perspective that God can bring to life. It is a different place in which I live at this time. A place filled with fantasy and wonder, where light and shadows are one, and no one seems to be afraid of the dark. Now, as I picture the world, I see a much broader perspective where in this world there is always hope, for all live together on one planet, and all have the opportunity to come together again, as God planned it. There is purpose in all things, my friends. You do, however, have free will and you can make your own choices about your destiny. Now, it is time for all in Mormon community to listen to their hearts, and to follow the design of their souls. To listen with fervor to the voice of God, and to watch your children, for they are your greatest teachers...

...go forth with concern and care for your brethren. Worship in your heart. You know what is right, you know where reality and truth become one. You are all caretakers of this planet. Treat it and its people with great care. Never forget that you are all one great family, one race, one body and one soul. That of Christ himself--all, like Jesus, a child of God."

"There is a place inside every man, woman and child that knows right from wrong. There is a voice that speaks only from a place of love and will always bring visions of guidance. It does exist, my friends, inside each and everyone of you. This was the lesson of our Lord, whom I now know as Joshua. He was born, not as a Savior, a man who came to take our sins away, but as a great and loving soul come forward as an example from God of what God's greatest love and compassion can manifest in our world. Was it not enough that God gave us the world, then breathed the breath of life into our souls? It was not. And, so God, at the request of the being Joshua, allowed his Son to come forward into the world. Joshua was a man so filled with love and respect for the beauty and wonder of this great blue planet that he came forward with an explosive force, a resonance felt round the world, and many were deeply moved by this force, and came forward to discover what--or who--had caused all in the world to seem brighter, for color to seem more wondrous. The world was so bathed in beauty and light that hearts of mankind were uplifted, and hope once again guided a war torn world.

Amidst the rubble a flower grew for all the world to behold. It was then that mankind realized that there was another way--that all paths move as one, in one direction, always. As the child grew He came to realize that His path was not his joy. He wanted to join the world and walk the earth as a man, to start a family, to be with community, instead of being separate, walking on water and producing food from the air. However, His sense of purpose was so great that He continued His journey, living out the decree with which He came forth.

I have learned much about decrees. Decrees are like sticks in the mud. There is no growth, no wonder and no joy in the universe. The church should no longer make decrees, but give advice that is holy and wise, that allows for change and allows each man, woman and child to find their own way, their own destiny in life. Values, however, are another thing. A self-righteous attitude has no place in your righteous and just world. 'Righteous and just?' you might ask. Indeed, this is the way in which God had determined it to be upon first creation. It is man who has spoilt the treasures and wonders of this great planet. And, so, it is time to return to your values. What is valuable on your planet? What has real value to you? To your children? To your husband? Make a list, and be honest with yourself. Is it money? A new hairdo? A fine pair of shoes? Or, is it justice at the price of another man's life? Now, write a list of those things that should be valued. The things that you take for granted. Food. A place to rest your head. Your children. Your spouse, or your friends. Is all of life finery? Is this where you put your hope? Your dreams? It is fine to have dreams, or even to pursue them, but don't forget your values along the way. The things which have true value in your life can be summed up in a single word: community. It is community that brings peace to one's soul."

And, that is the tip of the iceberg...
